Dear homeowners, do you agree if your on your own land can you kill as many dear that are on your land? i think that would help the problem a whole lot, well at leest the promblem of dera on our own land. but i think we should just be able to kill as many dear as we want until they arent a problem anymore.

S&S Homeowners - homeowner - MslSt                                                                        11/16/2011

Do we all agree that it would be best for everyone to just put up fences?  I think this could be effective.

Deer cause many problems to homeowners such as eating plants, destroying gardens,

scaring the children, stirring up the dogs, and defecating in the lawn. Another problem they

cause is bringing ticks to your environment. Ticks carry many diseases one major one being

lime disease. It's not safe to have ticks around children so the way to eliminate that

problem is start at the source of how they got there in the fist place. As a home owner, you

must figure out ways to eliminate deer from the equation so one of those ways would be

to spray your plants with deer repellent so that the deer would not have that reason to be

in your environment. Another solution would be to have guard dogs to keep them away.

Otherwise they'll destroy my expensive landscape.

we don't have to worry about them. God Bless. :o)

Deer live around my home because there is a small path of forestry behind my house. The

deer don't bother me, they keep to themselves. My neighbors that have gardens sometimes

have trouble keeping the deer out of their vegetables and plants. I hunt, and deer are a

main food source for my household.

I live in a development and sometimes deer are in my front yard. When my sister

spots them she runs out into the front yard with a flash light and scares them away.

I would not be worried about if the deer are in the yard. They shy away too quickly.

Deer often cause many problems for homeowners. Deer are a nuisance to homeowners.

They ruin plants, and eat crops. They also terrify the children, they also disturb family life.

They eat the bushes and make them misshapen, and unattractive.  Deer sometimes cause

unsafe situations in communities. Deer are supposed to live in the wild, but all of the

forestry has been diminished. The deer don't have anywhere to go so they cause a ruckus

in neighborhoods and different communities. Most deer travel in herds and families. Deer

are mostly just a pest to homeowners. They cause more problems than they do enjoyment.

Deer are overpopulated and a nuisance.

As homeowners we believe that hunters should be able to hunt as long they don't trespass

on people's property. Also if they shoot a deer they should eat the meat or sell it to

someone that would eat it instead of it going to waste. They should also take the whole

deer with them when they shoot it so deer carcasses aren't laying everywhere. The hunter

must report the deer they have killed or they should not be able to hunt. We think that the

hunters should let small does go and go after bigger game instead

As a Homeowner deer affect the house and yard in many ways. There are many different

ways to keep deer away from your home. One way is to bate the deer away. For example

set up corn stands away from your home. This method distracts the deer and they will be

more likely to go to the corn stand rather than your home. If you have a problem with deer

getting in your garden try growing plants they don't like eating.

The deer have many bad characteristics.  They eat your plants, and the vegetables grown in

your garden.  They also carry ticks, which have lime disease, so it's not safe to have

around your land.  By having deer around your land it is threatening your family with

horrible diseases.   Some people feed the deer and that attracts more deer to your house,

soon they will have about fifty deer running around on your property and, with the deer

running around on your land its messes with the watershed.  The watershed is very

important.  The deer pack down the soil so there is more run off when it rains.  When the

water runs it put less water in your wells.  That makes the water unhealthy; it puts dirt and

bacteria in the water that you drink.

Having one or two deer around your land isn’t much of an issue, because they are pretty

animals, and it's always nice to be able to look out and see them in your yard.  But once you

have 10 or 20 deer at a time, that's when it becomes a problem.  They start walking over,

and eating your gardens, and the food you've grown.  It's understandable that they need

food, but it's also an annoyance to find out that all the time you spent planting, watering,

and waiting for your garden to grow was a complete waste.

Hunting is not bad as long as you are not doing it for the wrong reason.  If you're doing it

because you are going to eat the meat then it's ok.  If you were doing it purely for fun,

then you shouldn't do it because it's cruel.  As landowners, we don't have an issue with

deer; it's what they do to our yards and property that we have an issue with.   Hunting is

good because it keeps the number of deer down.  When there is too many deer they run in

front of the cars.

In some ways it'good that the deer are hunted.  It keeps the forests from getting over

populated and it also keeps our land, gardens, and hard work from getting wasted, while

also helping lower the chance of getting diseases that come from the ticks they carry.  It's

sad that the deer that were killed have families, and lives, and weren't purposely doing

anything to harm us, but in the end its better that they're hunted.

few at a time is fine but if it gets too out of hand, you need to do something about it.

As homeowners, we are concerned for our pets and children's safety with deer around. We

do not tend to gardens or plants as other people do, so we have no reason for being upset

with the deer eating our plants and such. But we have plenty of children living around the

area and are worried about the safety hazards that deer present. When deer enter the

area, they bring hunters along with them. Now, there are hunting laws that state you

cannot hunt in neighborhoods, but that does not stop some people. With more and more

children going to play in the woods that surround the neighborhood, hunters have more of a

chance of shooting children than deer. Another major factor to our concern would be the

diseases deer potentially carry. Lyme disease is a big problem among deer. The disease

carry from ticks and when deer come in contact with humans and other animals, ticks may

drop off from animal to animal or animal to human. We've had one little boy who found a

tick in his hair and believe that deer have contributed to this problem somehow. We want to

be able to leave the deer alone, but have them stay away from our property so they do not

contribute to children getting diseases or being shot by hunters following these deer. We

have considered putting up simple fences for safety, but find that some deer can jump the

fence and still enter the area. The deer are causing a harmful environment for a

neighborhood and its homeowners.

As homeowners we want a decrease in the deer population.  They intrude on our property.

They eat our plants, vegetables, and fruits.  They also work up our animals causing rucus in

the neighbor.  They leave droppings in our yard. This is unacceptable and we need to see

something done about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well my idea of fixing this problem would be

setting up fences around all homeowner property to prevent these intruders. This solution

would cost a good bit of money and devert the deer from our property.

Doing a fence around your whole yard can be pretty pricy. Smoe people cannot

afford these things because they have other things to worry about. Also, having a

fence can't solve eveything because the deer can jump that with no problem.
